Our Story

The Story of Rural Handmade Bakery Point

A social enterprise born out of purpose, powered by passion, and sustained by community.

The Genesis

Born from a dual crisis

In the Sundarbans delta of West Bengal, two crises were silently growing. Rural families faced increasing health risks from chemically adulterated food. At the same time, thousands of skilled women and youth had no sustainable livelihood.

Rural Handmade Bakery Point was born in 2020 as a direct response. Our founders trained rural artisans to produce premium, chemical-free bakery products, then built a digital marketplace to connect them to health-conscious consumers.

Today, we operate across 7 locations in North 24 Parganas, employ over 240 trained artisans, and have delivered more than 12,500 orders — all while maintaining our founding promise: no artificial preservatives, no synthetic colors, no harmful additives.
